Available for all authorized users
For the publishing of messages to the MediaMyne mobile app, this content management page is the sole page to do so. Here is from where you can reach all connected app users in their pockets. This page is only accessible through the main menu. In this page, the following components can be found:
Messages in the overview
The messages in the overview show the image used in the message, or an image of a video. Per message, a name, the original author of the message, the number of views and likes, and the status of the message is shown.
Number of views
This counter indicates the number of people that opened the message on their mobile and updated if the messages list is loaded. If a user opened the message for a second time this will not be counted as well, so it is the number of unique readers. In the app itself this number is also displayed.
Number of likes
Users can like a message by tapping the ♡-icon. The total number of likes is indicated per message and updated if the messages list is loaded.
Searching in the overview
Any input in the search-field will instantly activate the searching in the overview on the name of the slide, so there is no search on content-text. The search filtering can be done in combination with the author- or status filters.
Author filter
On top there is always the 'All authors' item 1 which is the default setting.
Here under all authors are listed who at least made 1 message in the overview, with you as a user default on top of the list 2.
If selected, the overview will only show message made by this author.
If a user have made messages, but is for any reason deleted as user from MediaMyne, it will be marked in red 3.
If a user did not have made any messages, they will be listed at the bottom 4 and can not be selected.
Filtering the overview by message status
The green, yellow and red buttons allow the messages to be quickly filtered by their status. This is useful if, for example, you only want to see the active messages.
The number of message per status is displayed here as well. If you uncheck a status, any message with that status will no longer be shown in the overview and the overview will only consist of messages from the other two statuses. These status filters may be used in combination with the other filters and the search functionality.
Messages can be active, planned or in concept, and gives a quick insight if the slide should be published.
active Active messages are published and currently published to at least 1 app user.
planned Planned messages are also published to 1 app user or more, but will automatically be active in the future.
concept Concept messages are not published since the checkbox in Publication settings > Publish is turned off.
Processing Messages in processing status have video files that are being converted.
Archive or delete a message
Messages can be deleted or archived individually. To do this, click the '3-dots' button to make one of the selections to archive or delete.
💡 MediaMyne tip:
Since the deletion of a message is permanent and can no longer be reverted, we recommend that you archive messages if they are no longer relevant. In this way, a message can be retrieved and used at a later time.
In this block you can enter all content which forms the final message. We predefined four basic elements to compose the perfect message:
Composing text
Text can be stylized by the tools found in the bar above the input filed. To apply, just select the text to stylize and select one or more of the options. Text can set into bold or italic, but there is also an option to mark text as a quote, adding large quote-signs left of the text. Finally there is the possibility to to make a text into a link to an external source:
Adding images
You can use the image/video-selection button to select images from the network or your local hard drive, these images maybe in .jpg, .png or .gif format. After you select your image, it will immediately show up on the message preview on the righ pane. The image will be shown in the image area in full and the message can now be saved.
If you are not satisfied with the position or zoom-factor of the image, you can edit the image within the message preview. The slider on top of the image allows you to adjust the size of the image, the mouse can also be used to drag the image to its correct position. The final result will be the image as seen in the app's messages overview, as well as when the message is openend. However, if the user taps the image to view more in detail, the original, unedited version will be loaded.
Adding video
Instead of an image, it is possible to add video into your message. You can use the same image/video-selection button to select video files from the network or your local hard drive. MediaMyne accepts all existing video file formats, such as .mp4, .mov, .wmv, .avi,.flv, .f4v, .ogg, .m4v, but also other formats can be uploaded.
After uploading the file, you can save the message. The video file will then automatically be converted, and the message will become available after the conversion is completed. The time it takes to convert a file depends on the file size and length of the video but will be between 1 and 5 minutes. The status of the upload is shown on the message overview. During the conversion, the message status is on processing. If required, you can logout the system without disturbing the process. The message with video will be published to the addressed users automatically.
In this area the selected message can be seen as it will appear in the app. Text as well as images are directly visible when entered since the preview is updated instantly on user entry. If an image is selected, a slider will appear to zoom the image if required. It is also possible to move the image directly in the preview. The image will be shown in the app exactly as you saved it in the square area, however, if the app user opens the image to view in detail, the original image will be loaded and shown instead.
The second menu item Publication settings allows you to indicate on which screens you would like the slide to be displayed. You can also enter a period and select a playlist-category.
Name
The name of the message is visible within the CMS and is only intended to assign the message a distinctive feature. The name shall never appear in a message. The name of the message appears on the message overview and can be found using the search tool. The name of the message will automatically be generated based on the title of the message. You can change the name of the message without changing the title.
Start- and enddate
By entering a start date and an enddate, you can determine the period during which a certain message is published to the selected users. A message without a start and end date will be published immediately and for an indefinite period of time. A message with only an end date listed will be published immediately and expire at said date and time.
The time can be set in both hours 1 as well as minutes 2 in the same date-picker.
App users selection
The app users selection dialog appears when you click the 'On mobiles' button. Here you can select to which app users a specific message should be published to.
Filtering applies to all filters. For example, if the filters ‘Atlanta Branch’ and ‘Management’ are selected, the app users list will only show managers from the Atlanta Branch. You can then check and uncheck app users in the list on the right, thereby indicating whether you would like the message to be published to a specific user.
Publish
By checking Publish, you indicate that you would like the message to be published. If Publish is not checked, the message will be saved in concept as draft for later publication.
Available for all authorized users
The archive contains all messages which were manually moved to the archive as well as messages which were automatically stored after expiration. An expired message is a message for which the publication date has passed. Messages in the archive can either be stored there, deleted permanently or retrieved to the active messages overview.
The archive overview can be used to indicate for each message whether it is to be retrieved or deleted. After selecting the required messages, the options to delete and retrieve appear at the bottom of the page. When a message is retrieved, it will appear in the active messages overview in concept , with all original settings restored, except for the publication dates. The message is now ready to be published again.
To ensure yourself of successful publications, the users you expect to publish to need to be invited and activated. A full description of how to invite users can be found in the MediaMyne mobile settings pages. On the side of the app users this will all be explained in the received emails.
Push notifications
If a message is published, all selected app users will receive a push notification instantly, this is not optional. A planned message that will be active on a certain time and date, will trigger a push notification at that particular moment. If a message is published, and additional app users are selected in a later stage, the 'new' recipients will a push notification as well.
Messages with video however, will not trigger a push notification.
Please note: notifications are received only when the settings on the mobile device is turned on, so this is an individual setting. For more information of how to set the notifications on an Apple iPhone, please read Apple's support page on this topic. For Android devices, please visit the Android support page.
